In 2025, GIST Impact and Storebrand Asset Management analysed the 100 largest listed companies across Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland to assess how they interact with nature. Despite outperforming global peers by 42% on biodiversity impact, the data showed their combined pressure on nature has grown by roughly 1% every year since 2017. Growth, it turns out, has not been decoupled from nature impact.
